At the top of every octave (e.g. 0+000; 1+000; 3+000; 7+000; 15+000; 31+000) some or
All the Cams align with the little black marks. Those that aren't, are off by some
Simple fractional number of rotations.

This seems to be guaranteed by the gear ratios.  But maybe there's some "wrong" way to put the gears together that I didn't find :-)

Maybe it's simply a reference to a cross-check that there's no clamp slippage.
