Been out of the loop for a couple of weeks! Here's my meager list:
1x R-390A
1x R-392
1x R-1051B
1x Hallicrafters SX-42
As far as the "shortwave start" thread goes, my very first shortwave radio (and, indeed, my very first working tube radio was a demi-boatanchor, a Hallicrafters S-118. Basically a S-120 (the 'updated' version of the S-38 series from the early '60s) with a power transformer and LW band, one was given to me by a kind relative in the early-mid '90s. At first, I didn't know how it was supposed to be used, so I had it running without any antenna connected. Didn't get much, as you can imagine, but I was delighted when I first picked up a religious SW station (out of Georgia, IIRC) with it! Once I figured out what the screw terminals on the back were for, I hooked up a small plastic AM loop antenna ('borrowed' from an Optimus stereo receiver), which allowed for far better reception of signals (including a station from Czechoslovakia). Soon thereafter, I erected a short long-wire antenna along a fence next to the house, followed by the 100' or so longwire I use today, and I've been hooked ever since.
