[R-390] YOU DO NOT WANT TO COME TO THE SOUTH

Having lived in the South My entire life, I can tell all of you folks not from here this is one more horrible place to live! ! !
Please don't visit, vacation or otherwise travel to our pitiful corner of the country. The Warm climate and easy access to both mountains and oceans and all of the large lakes loaded with fish,
will distract you from listening to the good ole boys on 75-meters. Our close proximity to major interstate highways will only give you reason to get on the road and visit some of our wonderful southern cities, like Atlanta, Columbus, Charlotte, Asheville, Wilmington, Raleigh, Miami, Daytona, Orlando, Birmingham, Huntsville, Knoxville, Nashville, Richmond, Roanoke, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Louisville, Lexington and many others. Again, decreasing your monitoring time to the aforementioned 75-meter QSO's.
The plethora of excellent universities, will be of little use to those reading this reflector, anyway, since most readers are above 40 and already FULLY educated..I am speculating here.
Our friendly and cheerful folks will only allow you to make more friends and once more keep you from monitoring 75-meters.
The amazingly low property taxes we pay here in the pitiful south would only force you to buy more R 390A's, as pretty much all REAL southern Hams own, then you will have to buy a larger house. You are better off just giving those dollars to the tax collectors and not deal with the accululation of radio boxes, boats, tractors, guns and dawgs.
Our lower land and property prices allow many of us to buy acreage and we have to hassle with towers and beams and quads and antenna farms and cutting grass and having cookouts and in many cases peeing in our front yards and not being seen by anyone..
Many of us in the South are disliked by our current president since most of us own weapons and know how to use them, Most of us do not subscribe to the idea of. "goo to you by way of the zoo," thus believing in a higherpower we call GOD, So, many of us do have guns and Bibles.. That alone makes southerners undesirable folks to mingle with, especially, if you show up on our properties during the wee hours of the morning to steal our toys. After our Coon's and German Shepard's chase you down and we make target practice of your fanny, we will open the good book and say a few words over your sorry carcass before we feed you to the hogs.
Truly, living here in the south has it's hardships and the extra money we have is a real burden. We have to make decisions like, do I want 40) R 390A's and 20) R 390's or do I want 60) R 390A's and 40) R 390's.. It's rough to live here and you are better off not even thinking about moving to the south as SO MANY of your fellow citizens from the north, in particular, have already done to escape, high prices, taxes and snow. Yea, we usually only have enough snow for things to be pretty for 2 or 3 days and then it goes away.. But, please don't worry about us poor ole southerners; we have our crosses to bear and we do the best we can..
We don't have Boston baked beans and we don't know our tax collectors by name but we are getting by.. Please stay in your neck of the woods and don't curse yourself with our hardships..
And to North Carolina Tom.... Tom I am still waiting on your inventory, ( 4-years now,) of over 100) R 390A's. I am catching up with a combined count of 122 pieces Combination's of R 390, 390A, 391, 392 and 389's..
What can I say, it's rough to live here in the SOUTH ! ! !

Yes Sir!
A minor correction on: "Dobzre pu Polska?".
I was running strictly on memory. Bad Idea!
It *should be* "Dobrze po Pulsku!"
To that I add "Na Zdrowie" and "Sto Lat!"
From the line of Dombruvska! (Americanized - Dabrowski.) It is in the
Polish National Anthem.

That would be Ungar. Still around as a niche product, but with the
tip not grounded
and no temperature control, not too good for solid state electronics.

Definition of R-390: audio device used to reheat a plate of Kielbasa.
Definition of Willie Mays' glove? The place where triples went to die.

Quoting the bumper stickers:
Born in America - Southern By the Grace of God!
It all depends on how one wants to look at it.
I'm Southern by where I mostly grew up, and where I was Stationed in the
Military.
That being said, I do NOT own or display a Confederate Flag!
***********************************************************
However, there is NOTHING like cornbread, (Southern Style), Collard,
Turnip, & Spinach Greens, and/or a pot of Kale & Bacon!
Southern Fried chicken along with grits and Peach Cobbler go right along
with the line above!
The absolute ONLY thing I like from Yankee Land - Boston Baked Beans!
[It ought to be a CRIME to put tomatoes/tomato sauce in baked beans!]
