Presumably, the R-390( ) series is properly represented in the People's Democratic Republic of Texas.
I have one R-389, one R-390, three R-390As, four R-391s, one R-392, and one R-725. Also a 51J4 and an SP-600JX if those count.

I think the mass effect out does that by the stash at Andy Moorer's, Hank Arney's, and Matt Parkinson's.
But it really doesn't matter. They are all over the place!

Hi from Florida.
We used to be in the South..not sure what happened.....
Anyway, I have also had good luck using the BFO and gain control for SSB on the 390A and 390.
But I put a Sherwood on the 390 and a TMC CV-591A on the 390A just because I need more knobs, switches, buttons, gauges, dials, indicators, ......
And I did try the BFO /gain control method on the R-392, but can't get a legible copy.
(the R-392 needs alignment, I have not taken it apart yet to see whatever else is lurking within.)

I'll probably end up w/ another Sherwood for use w/ the R-392 if the DIY PCB option does not work out.

I agree Bob, I use my 390 for all modes without a problem. I think there might be something more convenient about an adaptor...

Hi All, I am in Taxachusetts (considerably north of the MDL) and I have a 390, 390A, 2 R-392's 2 R-388's, a 51J/2,3SP-600's,4 RA-17's... need I go on. I agree with Tisha as far as electric rates, I don't leave any of this stuff on 24/7 and my electric bill in the summer is around $350/mo. I do use some of them for a few hours a day.
