Everyone

I will add a clarification to my note. I am looking to get tooling purchased for this project. As such, this polling is to see if there is enough interest (i.e. enough bad filters needing repair out there) that the cost of the tooling can be compensated. The coils and the foam will be high quality and using tooling, fabrication and materials which exceed what the filter was originally built with.

If I can get 25 filters for rebuilding, I expect I can pay for the tooling and setup charges.

Thanks for the bandwidth.

Subject: [R-390] Rebuilding Service for R390A Mechanical Filters

I am polling the R390 list community to see if there is interest in a rebuilding service for the R390A mechanical filters. This service would provide rebuilding of the R390A filter by cleaning the filter of all disintegrated foam material, rewinding all 4 coils with new wire, installing new foam material and reassembling the filter. The filter would then be checked with a network analyser, with both this data and the filter returned to the customer. The fee would be $125.00 each per filter. The customer supplies me a rebuildable core.

Basic steps:

Inspect filter
Disassemble and clean all internal parts and the bore inside the filter body
Rewind all 4 coils - new wire
Reassemble filter
Check with Network Analyser
Supply customer with filter and data

Please let me know if you folks have any interest.

Regards
