[R-390] Freq Adj shaft too long??

I have been reading these pages over a number of years and had much
enjoyment over the anecdotes and tech discussion...I have two R-391's and
more recently acquired a 390A.



On the current R390A, it s a Motorola, I have progressed form making the
unit electrically OK to doing the painting, cleaning and lubrication One
thing throughout this which has been an issue, is the 'FREQ. ADJ' clutch
locking/knob assy. It actually protrudes about ¼ inch more than it should.
When the knob is fitted it sits quite proud of the front panel and the 'stop
plate' is not engaged at all when the locking know is rotated.



Anyone have this problem before??



I checked the clutch behind the front panel in it doesn't look like it can
sit any further back ( May be a little but not enough )....Could it be an
assy of a R-390.???
