  I have in my possession what appears to be a US ARMY AIR CORPS M-580 
signal
  mirror, however my daughter tells me it is actually a contraption called a
  "compact disc" upon which one stores files.

  I don't personally know how this can be possible however she tells me that 
this
  signal mirror contains, among other so called "files" a set of drawings 
entitled
  SC-D-135815 for the CY-979 cabinet dated 1953.

  I can make this signal mirror and it's contents available to this group 
provided
  someone knows how to extract the "files".

  These drawing can be used by a clever craftsman to fabricate new CY-979
  cabinets.
