[R-390] Veeder-Root counter

Man, this counter mechanism is junk.  Without it the RF deck tunes with one
finger.  Put the counter on, and it's rough, it binds hard in spots...back
the bevel gear off to full disengagement and the rest of the geartrain's
smooth again.  I don't know if this indicates a very new Veeder-Root, or a
very old one, or if this is just a bad example.

I have no idea what I might get away with for lubing it, so I haven't.  I'm
not sure lube would help; it feels like it's full of burrs somewhere in it's
mechanism.

Anyone else ever run into this, and what did ya do to fix it?  How do you
even get the @#$% thing apart?
