Really?  The only three I ever liked were the '50s-'60s VTVM (V-7, 
V-7A, IM-11, IM-18, etc.) -- after you drilled as few cooling holes 
in the case; the DX-100 (the original, not the "B"); and the W-5M 
audio amp (before they changed the output transformer).  Everything 
else I ever worked with or on could be described as "nearly 
serviceable" at best, but always full of gratch.  I've heard that 
some of the tube linears were OK, but I've never played with one.
