Bill,

I started the whole kielbasa thing years ago!

I can't help it! My mother's parents came from Poland. I know that my
Grandfather was born near Warsaw. My Grandmother was born here, while
her parents were working on their citizenship.

So I carry on the family tradition of making Kielbasa and Pierogi! My
Uncle and and stood right next to her a couple of decades ago. (Maybe
3?) Every time she added something to the ground pork, we would stop
her and measure it.

She had the recipe in her head, and "her" method of determining when it
was properly seasoned was to take a VERY small portion and pop it into
her mouth to taste. She then popped that "portion" into the trash.

Therefore, the following generations "needed" this storehouse of info!
In fact, said Grandparents came to my house for Thanksgiving about 5 or
6 six years later.

Grandpa mumbled at Grandma that my sausage was dry, and the pierogi was
chewier than hers. She got me off to the side and said "The hell with
him! He doesn't cook! AND - I didn't have to! It is ALL great!

I had about 15 guests at the house that only had two bed rooms. A
friend brought over an RV (maybe a large trailer?) and we had people
sleeping all over the place.

Anyway, that's how Kielbasa ended up in the threads! I tossed the
"idea" in during a BALLAST TUBE horse-beating!

Guilty!
