Perhaps surrounding the shack with kielbassa will protect the  
equipment within as well as cook the kielbassa through absorption of  
the EMP and thereby provide food for at least the first two weeks  
following the first EMP.

A few hundred pounds of russet potatoes might also add protection as  
well as broaden the survival diet.

Methinks we should lay in a good stash of induction coils, spark  
gaps, galena
crystals, and Branly coherers.  And to avoid the generator fuel  
supply problem
and to satify the need for VLF, howabout a bicycle-driven  
Alexanderson Alternator?
