There's different qualities of stuff out of St. Julians. Some are perfectly fine radios with spray paint on the front. Others are bent up piles of corrosion. I think Hank has done a good job stating where in the spectrum his fall. His prices are similar to what Fair Radio used was asking up until they ran out of radios - meaning not super cheap but fair, and to be honest it sounds like he has a better supply of meters and knobs than Fair Radio has had for a long long time.

Let's see, what was the October 1969 QST price for an EAC R-390A? $3K in 1969 dollars? Today you can get restored versions of that radio, literally better than new because they have useful modifications and better lytics, for less than they cost new in 1969. Of course missing out on 40 years use of the radio is a far bigger loss than waiting for the cheap price :).
