[R-390] R-390A dB meter as as "S" meter

On the 390A it's labeled "carrier level".  I leave it to the better-informed
on this list to equate values [and please copy me HI]..

There's been a zillion threads about it on this reflector--check the

Where is the "S" meter on this critter anyhow;)

Is there any way to equate R-390A dB readings to numeric values on an
S-Meter?
