Depending on your definition of "boat" it may be a non-hassle. This from
washingtonisland.com:
Head north on I-(4 toward Milwaukee. Continue on I-43N towards Green Bay,
Exit 185 to merge onto WI54/57 toward Sturgeon Bay, WI. Continue on WI-42 to
Northport Pier for Car and Passenger traffic and Gills Rock, WI for
passenger only Ferry.

I tried to find the place on Google Earth and it did not know the
street or address., Same with Google maps.
Bob commented that it's an Island and all that gear would come by boat
or plane. The boat trip from the next island/peninsula would be
fairly short, but to the mainland nearby somewhat longer. The
airstrip on Washington Is. seems to be a grass strip.
Rock Island, next north, (and once owned by Chester Thordarson?) is
quite undeveloped now. It does have a fine light house or two.
From the pictures of the lighthouse and others on Washington Island,
these islands are quite high in the center, with rough beaches and
steep slopes up to the land. Bill Hawkins commented: "If the island
floods, the old stuff goes first." and the idea is an alert for any of
us with treasures in the cellar near the water heater or in any damp
or low place. But I think the massive collection shown may be be
pretty safe from rising waters.
So, How is the polar ice cap, anyway? Melting fast? Uh oh!
