Thanks, Roger.  I'll go looking for the 8-32 flavor of those.
That is a good long-term fix.

Meanwhile, I stole the toothpick trick from the woodworkers and
put a hairpin of #22 or #24 solid wire through the PEM nuts in
question and the AF chassis cranked right in.  I sliced off the ends
of the wire that would be under the IF chassis, and left the other
ends long enough to grab should the AF chassis need to come out again.

It's a happy camper....
