[R-390] Collins R 389 PTO

Well, back when men were men and not slaves to sorry state devices,
radios had three independent dials that had to be tuned up to hear
a station. They called them TRF radios.

But seriously, how big is this problem?

How many 389s were made - 500?

How many PTOs were mangled? Anybody in this group?

How many people would sell a junker PTO, so some marvel of technology
could be built inside it?

How big is the market? At what price?

Don Reaves, you probably know more about this than anyone else . . .

No, but linearity and absolute rate are both still important because the
VFO needs to be synchronized to the tracking filters (unless you are
willing to tune the RF and VFO independently -- ugh).
