Dear Readers,
At some point in time some person smarter than I,asigned charge names
for the phenomina that they observed. The atomic structure of the atom
was likewise studied and charges were assesed to the various elemental
bits of the atom.(The're still doing this BTW and getting paid well for
the effort). In any case, someone figured out that like charges repell
and unlike charges attract.Simple.
In a vacuum tube, there is the element known as the cathode. It's
purpose is to boil off electrons. There are many types of cathode
material, and meny ways to stimulate them to emmit free electrons which
have a negative charge. There is another important element called the
anode which is elevated in potential positivly with respect to our warm
glowing cathode (which may be directly or indirectly heated).Since the
cathode is literaly boiling electrons into the free space vacuum of the
tube, and there is a positvely charged "target" for the free electrons
to be attracted to by the simple fact that dissimilar charges attract,I
say that electrons flow negative to positve potential in the real
world.(or real universe).
I welcome any explanation of how electons could actually go the other
way.I was un able to enlist due to some limitations so I did not learn
these ideas from any Military training. I learned these ideas in school
when I was getting my degrees.
Jay
