Hello all,

Thanks to all who offered their help and experience in getting my R-390 to
stop smoking (LOL) I have picked up the parts and will give it a shot
tonight. From all I can determine after some additional checks done late
yesterday - C325 is probably the culprit.

I will be changing it out & taking measurements before firing her back up.
Don, don't worry - I'm the last guy to relegate a working radio to the parts
pile without a fight.

I got this as a parts rig to begin with but decided to check it out before
using it for parts. It's one of the ugliest ones I've seen but it did work
prior to this little episode. I was more concerned about removing the RF
deck than making the repair since I had never done one before.

I'm optimistic that this will resolve the problem and I can continue to
learn from this one.
I have another RF deck that needs some attention so now I feel more
confident in undertaking that project. I'm going to stick to one at a time
at this point.

If I run into a jam I sure know where to ask for help in the future.

Thanks again.

Best regards, Rick
