I did that already and posted what I found at the Vibroplex web siteon  
the 22nd:

If you send an email to the company, they likely can tell your friend
when it was made.

(I was pretty much wrong on that!)

There is a link: "Date Your Vibroplex" that indicates S/N 71923 was
made about 1919.
Check the link "Out of Prod. Keys" to see what model it might be.
