If you send an email to the company, they likely can tell your friend  
when it was made.

There is a link: "Date Your Vibroplex" that indicates S/N 71923 was  
made about 1919.
Check the link "Out of Prod. Keys" to see what model it might be.

There are key collectors who could make a guestimate.  Just have him  
send it to me for a three year trial, and I'll make a guess about its  
value.
