[R-390] replacing components

The Zenith TO is actually not bad as a SWL radio. My main complaint
is that the built in speaker sounds tinny to me. Well, not too
surprising,
all 5" speakers sound tinny to me.

I could imagine a over-the-counter cabinet with a downward facing
speaker and a 390A
in it, wood-grained all around!

Tim,

I found if I built a "nice" finished wood cabinet with an R-42 buried
within, the XYL liked it!

I got to put it in the living room even!

However, since the R-390A isn't actually much of a band cruiser, I'm
looking at placing an SP-600 in the cabinet now.
