Don I did mine by making the splices along the wire distanced from each
other by the length of the shrink (3/8 to 1/2" long). The the diameter of
the wwire is not very much out of size to the original. Remember to push
back the outer cover weather it is shielding or clother covered. Then when
done, milk the outer conver back over all the spoices. All that shows, then
is the place where the cover was originally cut. I use a bit of 3-m scotch
coat over the remainder.
