Egad!  I may catch fire like an ignited oil well here, but I gotta 
say -- using quigs is the very definition of hack 
(non)-workmanship.  The sort of thing only third-rate TV servicemen 
and alarm installers would do.

Please, have some pride in your work and take the time to do it right 
-- use a vacuum desoldering tool and/or desoldering braid, take 
joints apart properly, and re-do them professionally.  Your radios deserve it.

Asbestos underwear -- on!
