This site, BTW, is 695 acres in size.

It has since been decommissioned and turned into a housing and office park.

What I would have given to have picked up ONE RLP!  These things were 
huge.  They had a multi-Hp electric motor at the base of the tower.  It 
turned the ENTIRE tower and antenna.

During its active phase, from the '40s through the '80s, it was not a 
place that one really talked about.  You didn't go there unless you were 
meant to BE there.  One did NOT drop in to use the facilities because 
your were simply active duty.
