[R-390] Collins R 389 PTO

I know this has been a problem for quite some time. Several have these
receivers that either have damaged PTO's or no PTO at all. One recently
sold on Ebay without a PTO. Use to be a list members radio. Not sure where
the PTO went but an otherwise nice radio sits without it's PTO.

Has anybody though about sending a sample of the core mix to someone who
makes ferrite beads etc and see about having a custom job done to make up a
few dozen.

With what the R-389 is valued at it would seem to be a worthwhile pursuit.

Of course the core may not be the only issue. The coil may have bit the
dust as well when the core was shattered. If so that's another issue all
together.

I'd love to own one of the radio's myself...even with the PTO problem to
take a shot at a fix.

Do have a Hammarlund SP-600-VLF...guess that will have to do...
