Alodine 1200 is a product of Henkel Industries. It is used to deposit a thin 
layer of Chrome on alluminum to prevent corrosion. OK, it is not "original", 
but it prevents the alluminum from deteriorating further. You should see 
some of the chassis I have with big hunks of front panel disintegrating into 
white power. If we want these receivers to last another 50 years, some 
treatment is needed, and Alodine is a particularly attractive one. It does 
change the color of bare alluminum a bit - it gives it a gold-ish sheen.
