Ed,

You do not really need a gear.

Set the RF deck up at the preverbal 7+ 000 so the cams align.

Get out yout trusty felt pen and start swiping marks across the gears where 
they mesh.

Then you know where to dial every thing back to before you try to set the 
deck back into the chassis.
