[R-390] re: Puyallup hamfest in WA

Just got home from this largest hamfest in WA. There
was just one R-390A there with a Stewart-Warner tag
that looked too small, as I could see a depression on
either side.... the interesting thing was that is was
housed in a well-made steel case that fit perfectly..
with no vents! Asking price $500 as *it doesn't work
on all bands, but I have not touched it in 30 years*.
The front panel was heavily stained, but did have two
original meters. All the controls were stiff. Too many
unknown unknowns for me at that price..... so I left
it there... now if the seller would let it go for
$250.... that would be tempting.

Other than a $400 HQ-180 and a $250 HQ-160, not much
else in the way of BA's. 

Best buy was a $10 BK 1476 DC-10mHz dual trace scope
which I did take home... as I am a sucker for nice
scopes.
