Thanks, that was interesting.

I remember reading in some publication that they had found that the
English SW receivers were inadequate for intercept work, and that
the American HRO was the receiver of choice for the purpose.  The
reason was not given, but I can speculate that it was a matter of
being able to re-set the receiver accurately to a desired frequency.
