Friend brought by a Hakko 808 desoldering tool for me to evauate tonight. It's a hand-held AC powered vacuum desoldering tool that looks perfect for removing PC board components. Costly, like $160 at Amazon and Frys, but seems to do the job non-destructively. Just the thing to disassemble hamfest solid-state treasures. Another tool to add to our overflowing tool chests.
