[R-390] Leary Super Pro Article

Here is a summary of the fabled “Souping up the Super-Pro” article.  Basically it’s a bust.

(1)  The super pro’s shown were sp-400’s which he dis-assembled, cleaned, put on a new chassis and
used peanut tubes instead of octals.

(2)  A third IF is added by using a BC-453’s 85 kHz IF transformers.

(3)  Added were: A product detector, fast and slow AGC circuits, 6AB6 tubes (Current price $35
each!) to the RF stages and an antenna trimmer.  Somewhere I read that he added an additional
voltage regulator.

(4)  No schematics shown, but he’d mail them to you.  Since he’s SK, we go fish.

If he did any mods on SP 600’s I have no idea what they were.
