[R-390] Slug Rack Rollers

As a low-dollar winter project I've started rescuing an old high-mileage
'54 Motorola R-390A from the grave--or at least from the nursing home.
It's actually in pretty decent shape, but I have one little problem that
has me stumped at the moment. Obviously this receiver was used as a band
cruiser, and all that knob-cranking combined with hardened grease
resulted in flat spots on several of the slug rack rollers. I see the
rollers are press-riveted units, so I presume they are not replaceable
parts. Is there a known fix for this, or is replacing the racks the only
option? I guess I've just been lucky, because the four or five receivers
I've done in the past didn't have this problem.
I'd like to get this question answered before I tear down the gear
train, which would be a waste a lot of time and effort if there is no
reasonable fix and replacement slug racks are not available.
