LOL.  For at least the last 40 years, "broadcasters' pride" is one of 
those mythical concepts, like honor among thieves.  Speaking as a 
former broadcast consulting engineer, I can say with assurance that 
every such station is offset by at least one hundred that operate 
right on the regs or not even to the regs, at least as to several 
significant regulated parameters.  Many type-approved transmitters 
have well-known problems with spurious oscillations and other serious 
failings.  I finally got tired of sending the FCC documentation of 
out-of compliance stations, there are so many of them, although the 
persistent 130% negative modulation of two of my local AMs may 
persuade me to blow them in.
