[R-390] Re: recent experiences (slightly OT)

We all have other interests.  I just  returned from Dayton and didn't buy 
another R-390A, but the guy who had 3  R-390As also had a nice Hammarlund BC-779 
Super Pro.  Since I cut my teeth  on a BC-779 some 40 years ago, I couldn't 
resist taking it home.  It will  need some work to remove mods and return it to 
original condition, but its worth  it-- It has the original power supply with 
the rack panel and cover.   Someone replaced all the RF tubes, but it still 
has the original tube sockets  with engraved tube numbers.  Fortunately, I've 
got most of the original  tubes from my first receiver.  I'm looking for a few 
parts if anyone has a  BC-779 laying around in the garage.  A nice project for 
the summer.
