Greeting Fellow R 390 Enthusiasts:
I spoke to Gary, K8FRS, at Fair radio today on the telephone. In the course
of the conversation, he advised me that they were going to allow the ham
community to enter the warehouse area on Thursday , May 17th, to peruse for
items of interest. Area's not allowed entry will be condoned off with yellow
safety tape. This is a rare opportunity to tour the inner sanctum. Also,
they will allow "hoss traders" to tailgate in their parking area for the
occasion at no charge.
As an FYI, Fair Radio bought 10 trailer truck loads of R 390A's from a
military surplus depot a number of years ago. They still have some left, but
they came for St Julian's Creek Depot and are, for the most part, beyond
repair due to rust and corrosion. They are still selling some salvageable
parts from them though. Plus, they have many other things of interest to the
Boatanchor community.
Fair Radio is located about 75 miles North of Dayton off I 75 Exit 122.
The address is SR/65, 2395 St Johns Rd, Lima, Ohio.
As a disclaimer, I have no interest in Fair radio financially and this will
be my first visit to their facility myself.
Good luck. Regards to all: Dana Cobb - K1RQ, Bradenton, Florida
