[R-390] overmodulation

Hello all;

I have noticed an overmodulation problem that has me stumped.  When 
listening to the MN Twins, when they get a hit and the crowd noise rises in 
the background, the announcer's voice get distorted and over modulates.  
Hard to follow the game and the play at the plate! Usual AM talk show fare 
like Rush Limbaugh is perfect. The AGC is working fine, I've tried 
manipulating ALL the controls with no audio effect; reducing the RF has no 
effect, AGC or MGC. Might this be an AF problem, something a push pull 
system might avoid?
