[R-390] re: Maintenance

I remember that thread. Oddly enough, I have adopted a
similar protocol, running my 390A at 105VAC off a
Variac. Seems to work OK for my purposes. I was
initally appalled to see the heater voltage to be
5.8VAC, but recall that the power Xformer states that
the heater winding is 6.0VAC, not 6.3. If one believes
that you are allowed +/- 10% on any one winding, the
6.0V could be as low as 5.4VAC and still be within
*specs*. Could this make sense??
