The little thing has push-pull audio but not sure of the impedence of the
secondary on the output transformer. I might get lucky and find it is
marked on the speaker itself.
I'm not sure, but when I first got it, I may have accidentally hooked power
up the power briefly with the polarity reversed. I thought that might have
fried a transistor, but either I was mistaken, I got lucky, or these little
things are more tolerant that I would have thought. I probably need to
check on the electrolytics in the power input section, though.
Audio is rather crappy and I think it needs alignment; however, I was
listening to the same frequencies on one of my other radios and I think the
crappy sounding audio is more on the transmitter's side than on the
receiver. Overmodulating on the CB bands? Never?? :)
Kind of cool in that it takes 10 AA batteries (12 if they're NiCads).
Probably got a lot of battery time back in the day.
Thanks,
Barry - N4BUQ
