[R-390] Why The Fowler Industries R-390A Auction Was Ended

Hi Gang:

I e-mailed Victor, the seller of the Fowler Industries R-390A to
inquire why the auction had been pulled.
No I am not a bidder. My wife would not be happy knowing I am even
looking at this item.

I am quoting his reply with his permission.

"After 7 days with the auction going well! Ebay pulled the listing
without first notifying me.

They, say, I violated listing polices, by including the word, "cash"
as an accepted payment method. I just can't believe this!!!

Apparently, my only violation was putting, "cash"! What's upsetting
is the fact that they waited 7 days and deleted it without notifying
me or giving me a chance to correct it!

I have contacted them to explain, why! The "cash' was for buyer who
wanted to pick-up in person.

I will relist."

This has to be the most ridiculous reason I have ever heard for ePay
to end an auction arbitrarily on a seller.

Unfortunately ePay seems to operate in a vacuum some times. By
design it is very difficult to communicate with them other than
through their web-based e-mail system. There are a couple of e-mail
addresses but unless you have these written down they are very hard
to find. Their HELP system has the answers to most of the
commonly-asked questions but in special circumstances like this it is
difficult at best to enter into any kind of dialog with them. It
seems that all communication with them is a asynchronous - never in
real time.

Telephone calls - forget it. I have a telephone number for ePay
somewhere and it was hard do get ten years ago.
The only way is to attend one of their annual get-togethers which is
very impractical to say the least.

ePay has gotten so big that they can pretty much do what they want
and if you don't like it you can go away.

73,

Michael, W1RC
