[R-390] OT: What's a 2J1626 tube?

Do you think maybe the "2J' is some kind of military identifier and the tube
inside is a 1625 triode?  Would the box accommodate a tube that size?

I have a 2J1626 tube from an estate sale up on you-know-where.

I can't find this tube in any of my references. Is it a tube at all? The box

is sealed, so I am reluctant to open it.

Anybody know what this is? Any help would be appreciated.
