[R-390] Gfi receptacle

Hi, has anyone encountered a gfi receptable that didn't want to let go of a
two prong plug? I was using a small soldering iron in my garage to put a
connector on coax going up to my antenna and I plugged into the the nearest
outlet which was a gfi outlet. Everything worked ok but when I was finished
and tried to unplug the soldering iron, the outlet didn't want to let me
pull it out. This is the first time the outlet has been used (new house).
I finally got it out by twisting/pulling but it took enough force that I
thought maybe it was going to pull the tines right out of the plug. Does
the third prong (ground) and the fact that I was not using it have something
to do with this behavior? Or is this likely a faulty receptacle? The
receptacle is a white household type with a reset button in the middle.
Maybe it needs some lubricant? I just went out and tried a three prong plug
and it worked ok. Then I tried the soldering iron again and it worked ok.
It was almost like it had welded in before but now it's working ok
apparently. Now on closer inspection, I see a small area on the edge of
one of the prongs where the brass is zinc colored and maybe it was welded
there to the outlet....any similar experiences ? Probably had nothing to do
with gfi. Dan.
