[R-390] R-389 stuff, Part I

The R-390() and A are like the DC-3. Lots of Planes can do lots of
things a DC-3 can. And do it a lot better.  But......

DC-3/Dakota/R4D is indeed a cool machine. My first military flight was on
one.  Several DC-3s were flyup in Alasks a few years ago as well as a few
PB-Ys. The guys with the DC-3s said they get a DC-3 up to spec with the FAA
way cheaper than buying a new bird to do the same thing, haul high grade
salmon.

EdZ...who remembers DC-3s in exotic SE Asia ~;^)
