They make new line filters with integral IEC sockets as well. I've seen
some that may be small enough to mount in place of the original filter,
maybe with a bit of filing for the IEC socket.
Larger ones can be mounted on the rear panel with leads routed into the
hole in the back panel where the terminals to the original filter stick
through.
