I guess everybody has Fowler on the brain....
You did mean Imperial as your subject line states...right?
It's very likely that the radio went through Depot at some time during it's
military service. As I understand it they remove the tags as part of the
Depot work and when all the work is complete just grab the first tag in the
bin that will fit and slap it back on the front.....with no regard for it's
original origin or modules installed....
Maybe others can speculate better than I....
Only thing I can speculate with reasonable certainty is that you meant
Imperial.....:-)

A while back I was given an R390-A receiver from the estate of an SK
friend of mine. When Bob was alive he often referred to this receiver as
being made by Motorola but has Fowler stamped several places on it. Bob was
usually pretty accurate about things radio related so I wonder if Fowler and
Motorola were in business with each other?
