Hi Folks,
I have had this R-390A for 7 or 8 yrs, have used it sparingly thru the
yrs, a bit the past cupla mo.s. It was gone thru about 10 yrs ago by a
retired Motorola 2-way dealer, who had been a tech. in the Navy some yrs
ago. You can tell the Navy background by the red nail polish evident on
areas/connections that he had worked on. He replaced things as he felt they
were required, and did a full alignment. I have been into it a few times,
have replaced more caps in the IF deck, incl. the filter killer, and
probably been into a few other things as well.
It's working well, all functions are OK to my knowledge. It is clean,
not spotless. I expect it could benefit from some loving attn to alignment,
etc. It has original meters and the ballast tube. It has recently powder
coated knobs, the panel has not been redone, it has small halfmoons at the
rackmount holes (none at the tuning knobs), and a few scratches, etc. I can
think of a cupla minor things now, the mini-BNC connector for the IF output
cable is half missing, and the C-connector jack for the whip antenna has a
solid center pin, it might be a removable broken off piece of rod or wire.
The can for Z-702 is not in place, I don't know why, but it's included.
I've been using it with an isolation xfmr on the AC input, the original
filter box hasn't been changed, and it tended to trip my GFI.
I have digipix and can email them to anyone with serious interest. I'm
tired of messing with computer stuff the last several weeks so won't put
them on a webpage unless there are requests.
Here's the bottom line - $495 plus actual shipping cost, Fedex probably.
I will pack, and have included $20 in the price for rigid foam & other matls
as needed, and my time. If you want to pick it up, or meet me at a 'fest in
eastern NC, you can save that $20. I prefer to ship conUS only, but may be
negotiable.
