[R-390] Arcing and Sparking Period!

Gang,

I TOO use either a fiberglass alignment tool OR a very well heat shrink
coated screwdriver.

When I haven't had the heat shrink for the job, I've wrapped the shaft
with two half lapped layers of Scotch 33+ or 88.

Have WE given thought to the "old" military safety "boards"? The one
with the shorting stick AND the wooden handled "hook" to remove someone
from contact?

ALL Radio Amateurs expose themselves to DANGEROUS voltages!

How about one of the "old" safety boards in the shack - AND educate our
spouses and/or family members as to the use of the safety hook?

TOO many of us HAVE had encounters that have gotten our attention. We
THOUGHT we did it right, BUT - it bit us anyway!

Getting off my "Roy" soapbox now. (Roy don't take offense! You put out
GOOD safe practice info!)

This "older" equipment does NOT come plastered with brightly colored
safety warnings like the "newer" stuff does! There sure AREN'T *ANY*
markings on my BC-610s.
