You kooks!  Just plug it into the wall.  It's designed for AC/battery use.

In answer to an earlier email, all the tubes except the
50A1 ballast (600 and late 500 series) and the 1L6
converter (500 and 600 series) are cheap and plentiful.
The 50A1 can be worked around, but the 1L6 was basically
single-source, single-customer, good ones are getting pricey,
and there's no substitute without disadvantages.
