TRansoceanics are great as both a bedside and a dining room radio. I have
rebuilt 6 or 7 of them ( have a bunch more in the attic).
I have put in a solid state 90 V PS for the plates and run them off 12 V
Lead acid batteries ( solid state regulator for filaments) Great sounding
radio!
