Hello Dana:

There are many good ones and I am sure that you will get many replies. The
person that I have used is Rick Mish in Toledo, Ohio. Just enter his name in
Google and his info will pop up. He is an excellent Tech and specializes in
the 390 series.

Bruce

Subject: [R-390] Assistance requested/R 390

Greetings to all:
                             I "inherited" a Collins R 390 from a childhood
friend several years ago. He and his XYL moved to Grenada and gave me this
radio along with a Heathkit Apache TX 1 transmitter just before they left.
The R 390 was "packed" in some sort of military traveling box. Looks
somewhat like an "ammo box" but big enough to fit the radio. The radio is
very clean inside, but is missing several front panel knobs. The IF deck is
loose and held in by a couple of screws. I don't have any of the missing
screws. Both covers are missing for the IF deck and a smaller compartment. I
have the top and bottom external covers. All the tubes are intact. Several
other items are missing also, including the 120 power cord and the shaft
that fits thru the front panel that tunes the antenna trimmer.
I'm looking for recommendations of qualified repair facilities to get
this radio operational again. Thanks for your assistance.
