Avast ye knob-grabbin', anchor-heavin', R-390A-lovin', land-lubber and
sea-going sacks o' salt:

I'm on the lookout, the 0000-2400 bridge watch, for an operative R-390A.

Something that needs fixing-up, meters, missing counter or such. Something
that you can part with
for a reasonable price.

I wish to have a working set as part of a test bed for an R-390A repair
facility up ahead on the horizon,
and don't want to use my Motorola s/n 4823 order no. 14-PH-56 for such
purposes, as she's my
sweetie.

I should be using my training and experience in repairing these wondrous
devices for others, whether
for profit or for a kindness to someone like me who is "disabled."

I am an expert on these devices, having immediately taken to the set during
my 1-week long, Navy
school on it back in Electronics Technician Class A School in 1969. Upon
seeing my very first one, I
decided that some day I must have one of my own. I pride myself on being
able to troubleshoot one
to some depth from simply the front-panel indications.

I don't know where this will lead or how long it will take to get to that
unknown destination, simply
that I need to be doing this specifically.

Please contact me off reflector at WD4INP at isp.com and we'll discuss terms.

Or write me at the address at the end of this message.

I strongly advise against calling, as I cannot talk. Everything will have to
be filtered through my
little "browneck" Philippine wife who knows naught about electronics, except
the voodoo of
setting up VCRs, zillion-function TVs, satellite receiver systems and the
like.
